ARMA NNJ Gives Back: November

The 2015/2016 ARMA-NNJ leadership team decided to implement a charitable/ community outreach component for our organization to supplement our professional development programming. We wanted to be able to give back to the communities in which we live and work. ARMA-NNJ will be coordinating a charitable drive for each of our professional development/networking events that are held throughout the year.

NOVEMBER – “ARMA NNJ GIVES BACK” RECIPIENT = DRESS FOR SUCCESS OF MORRIS COUNTY:

At our ARMA-NNJ November 18th Professional Development Event being held at the law offices of Drinker Biddle in Florham Park, the “ARMA-NNJ GIVES BACK” charitable/community outreach program recipient will be DRESS FOR SUCCESS OF MORRIS COUNTY.  We will be collecting the apparel items to help the Morris County DFS program to support their mission of promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.  With the change of seasons descending upon us, now is the perfect time to look through your closets and see what you can recycle and how you can truly help us with this endeavor Listed below are items that Dress For Success is accepting to assist with replenishing the apparel available at their client boutique facility:

  • Interview appropriate suits
  • Interview appropriate blouses
  • Professional separates including blouses, slacks, skirts, dresses, blazers and jackets
  • Work appropriate shoes
  • Jewelry and scarves
  • Handbags (briefcases, portfolios or work appropriate handbag)
  • Monetary Donations (Checks made out to DFS of Morris County)

NOTE:  They particularly appreciate donations of plus size professional attire or gift cards to plus size clothing stores.

We thank you in advance for your anticipated support and generosity in helping us with this valuable community outreach program.

Mary Jean Barnes, Esq. who is the Executive Director of the Dress For Success of Morris County program, will be in attendance to aid with the apparel collection and to share information about the various success stories that their clients get to experience through the gracious generosity of community outreach programs. For additional information about the Dress For Success Program, we encourage you to stop by their website at: https://morriscounty.dressforsuccess.org/about-us/what-we-do/

We look forward to continuing this effort as we move forward in the 2016 business year. If you have an organization that you would like to have considered as a recipient for future programming events, please reach out to Ann Gorr, ARMA-NNJ Executive VP via her email address of vicepres@armannj.org and she will help with arranging the charitable donation recipients and processes for us.
