General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European regulation intended to protect and strengthen data for residents of the European Union. GDPR Regulations come into force May 2018. Learn what it means to you!

The event will be held at the Microsoft Corporation in Iselin, NJ. We'll enjoy food, refreshments, and a compelling panel discussion. Come join your colleagues!

Get the early bird rate and register now!  The early bird rate for ARMA NJ members is $30, and Non-Members $40.  To encourage RIM education for college and graduate students, the ARMA NJ student rate is $10.

For registration taking place after November 9th  or “at the door” registration, ARMA NJ members will be charged $35 and Non-Members $45.

William Saffady

 

 

 

William Saffady is an independent records management and information governance consultant and researcher based in New York City. He has extensive experience developing strategic plans and governance models for records management programs, conducting needs assessments and gap analyses, preparing record retention policies and schedules based on legal research and operational needs, developing technical specifications and procurement documents for records management products and services, and preparing costs analyses and justifications for specific records management projects. Dr. Saffady is the author of over three-dozen books and many articles on records management, record retention, document storage and retrieval technologies, and other information management topics.

 M. James (Jim) Daley combines over thirty-five years of complex litigation experience, with his Master’s Degree in Information Systems and his International Privacy Professional Certification to help clients reduce the legal risk and cost of global compliance with Cross-Border eDiscovery, International Information Governance, and Data Privacy, Security and Protection obligations. Jim serves as a trusted advisor for a wide variety of Fortune 500 clients, and was profiled by The American Lawyer as one of three attorneys “Who You ‘Gonna Call” for international e-discovery counsel.

Jim and his team helps clients develop, implement, and defend (if challenged) practical and defensible protocols for cross-border ediscovery in business as well as litigation and regulatory contexts. Jim also helps clients develop, implement and defend policies, processes and technologies for global information governance and data privacy, data security and data protection obligations.  processes and technologies. In particular, Jim is currently helping clients prepare to comply with the EU Data Protection Directive, The US/EU Privacy Shield Privacy Shield, and the new EU General Data Protection Regulation, effective May 25, 2018.

Jim is a frequent author and speaker on managing the risk of global ediscovery, data protection and business use of EU personal data.

He is a practiced IT security professional with strong leadership experience and expansive breadth of expertise across Information Security, IT Governance, Risk and Compliance. Chris continually pursues practical and creative approaches that align design/architectural challenges with InfoSec priorities to deliver productive security-focused results.
